The opening of the National Winter Games… Four days of hot battle

The 104th National Winter Sports Festival, the largest winter sports festival in Korea, has opened.

It will be held for four days from today (17), and the Gangwon-do team is aiming for 3rd or higher overall.

This is the alpine skiing event of the 104th National Winter Sports Festival that opened today.

This year’s Winter Sports Festival will be held in five provinces including Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do, where snow and sliding events are held, as well as Seoul and Gyeonggi-do.

In the aftermath of Corona 19, last year’s tournament was held without spectators, but this year spectators were allowed to enter.

A total of 495 Gangwon-do athletes competed in all eight events, including ice skating, skiing, ice hockey and curling.

Including pre-games, Gangwon-do got off to a good start by winning 52 medals, including 16 gold medals, until today, the first day of the tournament.

In particular, Jeong Dong-hyeon won three gold medals, befitting a Korean alpine skier.
