“Thanks to them, I am playing baseball in such a healthy way. I hope they will contact me.”
NC Dinos infielder Do Tae-hoon, 30, started at first base in the No. 9 spot against the Changwon Hanwha on Sept. 26 and went 3-for-4 with a double, home run and four RBIs to lead the team to an 11-0 victory. After taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, he hit a two-run double with the bases loaded to set the stage for the big inning. NC scored six runs in the second inning alone, including a two-run double by Do. The game was tilted early.
In the bottom of the inning, he came back to bat with the bases loaded and a runner on third with a single to right. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded and no outs, he hit a solo shot to right field off Han Seung-ju to make it an 11-run game.
Do has been the lifeblood of the infield this season and is off to the best start of his career in his eighth year. He has played every position in the infield except shortstop this year and is batting 3-for-6 (22-for-72) with two home runs, nine RBIs and an .850 OPS in 36 games. Despite the departures of Park Seok-min, Oh Young-soo, and other corner infielders, Do Tae-hoon has filled the void and is proving to be competitive enough to overtake them when they return.
However, this performance could have come about by accident. In the early morning hours of September 12, the last day of the Chuseok holiday last year, Do Tae-hoon was driving back to Changwon after visiting his home in Busan when he was rear-ended by a drunk driver who was driving in reverse on the highway. It was a dizzying and dangerous situation, with the car overturning. Luckily, the driver’s car hit the passenger side, not the driver’s side, and with the help of passersby, Do Tae-hoon was able to avoid a major accident.
Do was hospitalized for a short time due to concerns about the after-effects, but after recovering well, he returned to the first team roster on the 30th. He has continued to perform well this year.
However, after the game on the 26th, Do Tae-hoon talked about the car accident again through the club. He wanted to convey a message that he wanted to find the people who helped him during the accident.
“It’s not related to today’s game, but there’s something I really want to say,” he began, “In September last year, I had a car accident in which I collided with a reversing car and my car overturned. At that time, there were people who helped me by risking a second accident on the highway, but I was too busy with the accident to thank them,” he explained.메이저놀이터
“I always thought that I should thank them, and now that everything has been finalized, I contacted the police department to ask for their contact information, but there was no contact information left, so I was thinking a lot about what I should do,” he said. “I think that I am able to play baseball today because of them. If they see this, I hope they will contact me through the organization. I want to see them and thank them,” he said, conveying a plea to find a lifesaver.
Do Tae-hoon is eager to express his gratitude to the person who made his baseball career blossom.
