The opening schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 English Premier League (EPL) season has been released.
The EPL’s governing body announced the first-round matchups for the new season on Friday. The 2023-24 season, which kicks off in August, promises to be different from this season with Burnley, Sheffield United, and Luton Town gaining promotion.
The possibility of a Korean derby from the very beginning of the EPL has been raised. So far, only Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur) and Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton) are playing in the Korean Premier League, but current transfer rumors suggest that Kim Min-jae (Napoli) and Kim Ji-soo (Seongnam FC) could join the fray.
Kim has been strongly linked with Manchester United. Manchester United, who are looking to strengthen their center backs, have made it a priority to sign Napoli’s Kim Min-jae, who has proven himself in the big leagues. They are willing to pay a buyout clause that kicks in on July 1.
If Kim makes it to the Red Devils as expected, he could face off against Hwang Hee-chan. The Red Devils begin the 2023-24 season with a trip to Wolverhampton in the opening round.
Son Heung-min will open the first round with a trip to Brentford. The match has the potential to be a Korean derby as Kim Ji-soo, who has been called the next Kim Min-jae, is in the process of joining Brentford. Kim made his professional debut with Seongnam last year and recently played at center back at the U-20 World Cup, helping South Korea reach the quarterfinals.메이저놀이터
He is expected to fly to England next week to sign with Brentford after being touted by the club for his outstanding potential. The work permit rule has been relaxed, so he is likely to join Brentford. If he can get acclimatized early through the preseason, he could even face off against Son Heung-min.
The EPL, which has raised the expectations of domestic soccer fans, has also scheduled the first round as Burnley-Manchester City, Arsenal-Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth-West Ham, Brighton-Luton, Everton-Fulham, Sheffield-Crystal Palace, Newcastle United-Aston Villa, and Chelsea-Liverpool.
