‘Park Ji-hoon and Byun Jun-hyung 46-point collaboration’ KGC, KCC win after a close battle… 10 consecutive wins

KGC further consolidated its lead with 10 consecutive victories.

Anyang KGC Ginseng Corporation won 88-79 at the 2022-23 SKT A. Pro Basketball held at Anyang Indoor Gymnasium on the 17th at Jeonju KCC, where Ji-hoon Park and Jun-hyung Byun were active.

As a result of the day, KGC maintained first place with 10 consecutive wins and 33 wins and 11 losses. KCC suffered 23 losses (17 wins) along with 3 consecutive losses, and went down one notch in a tie for 6th place.

1st quarter, KGC 21-21 KCC: 3-point shot vs dispersed, close match 10 minutes

KGC started with Byun Jun-hyeong, Lands Abando, Moon Seong-gon, Omari Spellman, and Oh Se-geun as starters, while KCC started Park Gyeong-sang, Kim Ji-wan, Jung Chang-young, Lee Seung-hyun, and Ra. Gunah was named in the starting lineup.

With two minutes left, KCC took a 37-32, 5-point lead with Lee Seung-hyun’s free throw and jumper. KGC missed a series of shots and lost the score. Afterwards, the two teams exchanged points intermittently, and KCC did not lose the lead.

With 30 seconds left, Laguna made a post-up and Park Ji-hoon made a jumper. The score difference was 42-36, 6 points. KCC took the operation time to make the last attack successful. The remaining time was 10.9 seconds.

3rd quarter, KCC 66-64 KGC: KGC’s chase, KCC’s response

KGC narrowed the score to 41-44 with Moon Seong-gon and Park Ji-hoon making 3-pointers. KCC only maintained the lead with Laguna and Lee Geun-hwi jumpers.

KCC ran away 49-43 with Song Dong-hun’s lightning-fast 3-pointer. KGC immediately responded with Byun Jun-hyung’s 3 points and did not miss the chase flow. KGC succeeded in reversing. Byun Jun-hyung and Park Ji-hoon succeeded in breaking through once each, leading 50-49, 1 point.

KCC, who was unhappy with the attack, took the operation time when 5 minutes passed. KCC calmly operated the attack and accumulated points. La Gun-ah, Park Kyung-sang and Jung Chang-young participated in the scoring. With two minutes left, they led by 4 points, 56-52.

It was the moment when the 36-minute offensive and defensive battle turned to the starting point. KGC ran away first. Spellman tip-in and Byun Jun-hyeong free throw led 81-77. With two minutes remaining, KCC took the operation time.

KGC strode away. KCC chased after Laguna with a bottom-of-the-box shot, but with Oh Se-geun’s jumper added to Byun Jun-hyeong’s 3-point shot, they ran away with a 86-79, 7-point lead with 1 minute and 14 seconds left in the end. KCC took the last operation time.  

The Laguna attack failed. Moon Seong-gon drilled through the bottom of the goal. It was there. KGC increased the number of winning streaks to ’10’.
