Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw is expected to return from injury this week.
“It’s not set in stone, but it’s very possible that Kershaw will start the first game of a four-game series against the Colorado Rockies,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Monday. The Dodgers begin a four-game series at home against Colorado on Nov. 11. Kershaw received a passing grade on his last seven bullpen throws.
Kershaw, who debuted with the Dodgers in 2008, is 207-91 with a 2.48 ERA in 16 years in the big leagues. He won three Cy Young Awards and five ERA titles. However, in recent years, he has been plagued by nagging injuries and hasn’t been the dominant force he once was.
This season, however, he was back to his best, competing for multiple wins before his injury. In 16 starts through June, he went 10-4 with a 2.55 ERA, leading the National League in wins. His batting average (.216) and walks allowed per nine innings (1.05) are both low.
However, on June 28, he was placed on the disabled list (IL) with shoulder soreness after a start against Colorado. He was selected to his 10th All-Star team, the most in franchise history, but missed the All-Star Game. His rehab took longer than expected, delaying his return.온라인바카
