According to this announcement, the number of participating teams in the Club World Cup will be expanded from the previously planned 24 teams to 32 teams. The first competition of the 32-team system is scheduled to be held between June and July 2025. This matter was approved unanimously.

The number of participating teams for each continent was also revealed. Asian Football Confederation (AFC) 4 teams, African Football Confederation (CAF) 4 teams, North Central America and Caribbean Football Confederation (Concacaf) 4 teams, South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) 6 teams, Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) 1 team, Europe There are a total of 32 teams, including 12 teams from the Football Federation (UEFA) and one team from the host country.

The 2023 competition will feature seven continental champions in its current format. The Club World Cup is unanimously held in Saudi Arabia. The competition period is from December 12 to 22, 2023.

In addition, the 2026 World Cup in North and Central America will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, and all host countries have decided to maintain the tradition of advancing to the finals. Instead, three of the six participation tickets allocated to the North Central American and Caribbean Football Federation will be deducted.
