‘Batting explosion’ Toronto sweeps Boston…Schneider goes 4-for-4

The Toronto Blue Jays have swept a three-game series against Boston.

Toronto cruised to a 13-1 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

With the win, the Jays swept a three-game series against Boston, improving to 63-50. Boston is 57-54.

Toronto pounded the Boston mound for 16 hits on the day.

It started in the third inning. With two outs, George Springer’s grounder to shortstop was mishandled by center fielder Jaylen Duran for an unearned double, and with runners on second and third, Matt Chapman followed with a double to left field to load the bases.

Cavan Biggio followed with a double and Kevin Kiermaier singled to make it 4-0. Two runs in the fourth and five in the fifth put the game out of reach.

Rookie Davis Schneider contributed to the big win, going 4-for-5 with four RBIs on the day, including a two-run home run in the fourth inning.온라인바카

According to Sportsnet, Schneider has nine hits in his first three games, tying the major league record for most hits in the first three games of a career since 1901.

According to MLB.com, the only player to previously have nine hits in the first three games of a career was Corker Triplett of the Chicago Cubs in 1938.

Toronto starter Chris Bassitt improved to 11-6 on the season with seven innings of one-run ball, one hit, three walks and six strikeouts.
